The Consultative Environmental Forum

Parliamentary Lectures                Executive Short Courses                    Opinion Leader Trails

The Consultative Environmental Forum (CEF) was established in 1998. The CEF is a joint Project by the Wilderness Leadership School (WLS), the Centre for Environment and Development (CEAD - University of Natal) and GLOBE Southern Africa. Ms Gwen Mahlangu, MP, Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Environmental Affairs and Tourism (National Assembly of South Africa) is chairing the Forum.

The Forum's activities are aimed at parliamentarians in Southern Africa. The core purpose of the Forum is to provide MPs with:

  • networking facilities by organising conferences, seminars and workshops
  • information and material on critical environmental issues
  • training programmes that will enhance and widen environmental knowledge
  • access to experts and specialists in the environment and development field

To fulfil these objectives, the Forum will organise the following events in the year 2000:
